5 Tips to help you choose your Perfect Prom Dress in Liverpool
1. Don’t leave it till the last minute.
Start looking for your Prom Dress a couple of months before your Prom. Don’t leave it until the week before – your choice will be limited and if the shop needs to order your dress, they might not have enough time to get it delivered.
2. Remember the small shops!
Most smaller shops really do offer the most amazing selection of fabulous prom dresses. A small, independent retailer is where you are most likely to find that really special dress. A Bridal Shop may seem an unlikely place to look for a Prom Dress but when you realise that many of the companies that make Bridesmaid’s Dresses also make Prom Dresses, it makes sense. The worst thing that can happen at a prom is that someone else turns up in the same dress! But how will you know whether someone else has chosen the same dress as you? Here at Captivating Brides and Special Occasions we always ask which prom our customers are attending, and we will never sell the same dress to two people going to the same Prom.
3. Have an open mind.
It can help to have an idea of just what kind of Prom Dress you are looking for, but try not to get a really fixed image in your head. You can experiment with different colours, styles and “looks” in the shop and you may find that a style that you would never have chosen from a photo in magazine is perfect when you try it on.
4. Take someone with you, to help you choose.
You really do need someone to give you a second opinion but be careful who you take. It must be someone whose opinion you value, and above all, whose opinion you can trust! Remember that friends could be in competition! The best person to take would usually be Mum, Dad, older sister etc – they will normally have your best interests at heart. And don’t forget to ask the advice of the person serving you. They will have a wealth of experience and be able to suggest colours and styles that you may never have considered.
5. The most important thing is to have fun looking for your dress!
