Finishing Touches
Bridal Petticoats
When you first lay your eyes on a bridal petticoat you can be forgiven for thinking it’s an item that you can do without.
Bridal petticoats may not look appealing in the flesh but once you’ve put one on underneath your dress you’ll appreciate how fantastic they really are and they offer a host of advantages to an array of bride and bridesmaid dress designs:-
Effectively stops static cling. The look of a wedding gown can be ruined if static cling causes it to wrap around her legs, wearing a petticoat will stop this completely.
Efficiently hides VLP. A bridal petticoat allows a bride to wear the wedding lingerie of her dreams without the need to worry about a visible panty line.
Bridal Petticoats give an hour glass figure by making the waist seem smaller in your gown.
Wearing a petticoats also prevents a wedding dress from creasing as much.
Bridal petticoats should be considered an essential item of wedding lingerie; whatever wedding gown you choose.
Captivating Brides have every type of petticoat in store to make your wedding gown look at its most beautiful and with hire prices from £35 and purchase prices from £75 they are within every bride‘s budget.

Wedding Veils
A wedding veil should complement your wedding dress.
It is best to look for a veil at the store where you bought your wedding dress to ensure a perfect colour match.

Ask a salesperson for the veil that will go best with the dress you’ve chosen. Listen to what they have to say, they are the experts.
Try out their suggestions with your dress. This way, you can evaluate and best decide on the right veil to buy.
Before choosing a veil you need to decide how you are having your hair.as this will affect the way you wear the veil.
Decide on the length of your veil. There are many different lengths to choose from but the three most popular are:-
Elbow length
Fingertip length
Cathedral length
Which one you choose very much depends on the style of your dress and your height. As a general rule, you would only pick a cathedral length veil if you dress has a very long train but, of course, there are no hard and fast rules as each gown and bride is different.
The color of the veil is, in our opinion, the most important part of choosing a veil. For example, if you choose a diamond white veil with an ivory gown, your veil will look dirty and the opposite will apply in that an ivory veil with a diamond white gown will make the veil look yellow.

Tiaras
Your wedding tiara is a once in a lifetime purchase just like your bridal gown.

You have spent a lot of time and money choosing your bridal gown, now its time to find the dream tiara.
There are many different types of tiara available for the bride and her bridesmaids. There are diamante tiaras, pearl tiaras, swarovski crystal tiaras and, of course, any combination of all three.
Your bridal gown and hair style will very much influence the style of tiara you choose. Your tiara should compliment your bridal gown not over power it so stick to a simple tiara design if your gown is heavily decorated.
Also if your gown is decorated with crystals then don’t choose a pearl tiara. Ensure there is continuity between your bridal gown and your accessories.
Also bear in mind that as a general rule a traditional bridal gown is complimented by a traditional tiara. You will not achieve the right look if you pair a traditional gown with a modern side tiara.
At Captivating Brides we have a range of tiaras to suit your style whether that be quirky, traditional or elegant. Our prices range from £29 to £295.

Other Hair Accessories
You may not want to wear a tiara. Don’t worry there are other options.
Pins or grips in crystal, pearl or diamante are perfect for the bride who doesn’t want the formality of a tiara. They can also be worn pinned in to the back of the hair for the bride who doesn’t want to wear a veil and are ideal for bridesmaids as they are available in a range of colours to match your bridesmaid dresses.
Hair vines are becoming more and more popular due to their adaptability. They can be woven in to a structured ‘up do’ or shorter hair vines can follow the line of a sweeping fringe or highlight a hair parting. Their versatility knows no bounds, you can even wear them again on your wedding anniversary!
